Peter and his guest left the camp at seven in the morning to capture some game sighting before becoming hot when most game take refuge in bushes. Peter planned in away that he could at least capture the big five country.

In the morning they was lucky as they saw a leopard hunting but luck was not with it and missed an Impala by inches.The pick of the day was on their way back to the exit of the reserve when they spotted a black rhino at the middle of the savannah. Peters' guests wondered what would a black rhino do in the open? Peter explained the difference between the black and white rhinos and further told that black can be found in the open as they feed on herbs on top of the normal browse. As they got closer the rhino stopped browsing and gazed at their car as if to pose for credible shots.

An expensive meal..

When Japhet and his guests left the camp, the mission was to chance a rhino in the reserve. They drove into one of the popular rhino area and as they combed here and there the spotter saw some movement at a distance and asked the ranger to stop for a confirmation.

Everyone expected to hear a rhino but instead the spotter said it was a pride of lions sorrounding a buffalo. On arriving on the scene they found a battle that going on and everyone looked determined to win! The buffalo was severly injured and badly bleeding but still managed to keep the pride away.

The updates later was that they managed to bring down the bull the following day!!

An expensive meal..

When Ferdinard and his guest left the camp the mission was to chance a rhino in Maasai Mara Game Reserve. They drove into one of the popular rhino areas in the reserve and as they combed here and there the spotter saw some movements at a distance and asked the ranger to stop for a confirmation.

Everyone in the car expected to hear its a rhino but the spotter informed that it was buffalo surrounded by lions. That seemed more interesting and the drive to the spot was instant. There were six lioness and a bull buffalo that have been fighting for unknown time and the battled was not nearing the end as everyone looked determined to win. The war would go for a while and then stop and kept on repeating until it was time to get back to the camp. The bull buffalo was severely injured and bleeding alot but still looked strong. The guest forgot the rhino search and confirmed later that it was nothing to compare with.

The following day was when they managed to bring the buffalo down and enjoyed the meal but we missed this last action.

Lioness having a meal

Daniel with his two guest set off into Mara Game Reserve with expectations of seeing at least a cheetah. This was a special request from the junior in the family and they agreed that nature as usual will work miracles. The drive to the cheetah country was great with lots of common game sighting but the pick was the sighting of a lioness having a snack from a baby warthog.

This surpassed even the sighting of a cheetah that they later came across near Talek river. They watched the big cat crush ,chew the tender bones and swallow easily till the end of the meal. Nothing was left behind for the scavenging family.

Stranded in the middle of Mara river....

The grassy plains of the Mara game reserve are already looking nice and green due to the rains that have been pounding for the last ten days. The Mara river gets flooded due to heavy rains upstream. Ranger Japhet and his guests witnessed a very interesting wildebeest crossing down at the mara river. They watched a herd of wildebeest swim across with some of them being pushed further down stream due to strong water current. The small group took refuge on an island in the river and before long they decided to swim across and re-join the others. Japhet guests were happy to see all the wildebeest make it through un-harmed.
