Elephant feeding on an acacia. 

 Acacias are some of the preferred diet for the elephants. Today, just closer to the camp, we were  attracted to the sight of a young male elephant that was stripping the back of an acacia tree with its trunk. He had earlier on used his forehead to bend the tree so as to easily reach some of the branches.He worked on the tree for almost half an hour before supplementing with some grass beneath it.

Cheetahs  on the lamai plains.               

Ranger Deus found some three  brother cheetahs resting under an acacia tree  in the vast open plains of lamai. These cheetahs have stayed together ever since they parted ways with their mother about four years back. They do hunt and share their meals together. The lamai plains have been their home for almost two years now as it is full of Thomson gazelles which are their preferred food.

Sunset  over a big bull elephant.

The sun was setting over a big bull elephant closer to our camp. He had a big tusk and seem to have seen a lot of life over the  Serengeti  plains and woodlands.  He did not seem bothered at all by our presence as we watched him feed around the camp even after the beautiful sunset. There were a few others scattered  around  feeding on some small shrubs but they were smaller members of his herd.

Lion walking on the road.                       

During an early morning game drive, we watched a young lioness walk leisurely on the road towards our vehicle. She had jumped down from the top of some rocks leaving behind others. When she lifted her head up and saw our vehicle, she  stared for a while and then slowly changed directions  into the tall grass before eventually  rejoining her  pride  members back on the rocks.
